Boris Johnson could suspend Sunday trading laws for a year under Government plans to boost the economy, it has been reported.

No 10 is reportedly drawing up plans to enable larger supermarkets to open for more than six hours on Sundays.

It comes as leading scientists said an inquiry into the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK is vital before a second wave hits.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have died after testing positive for the coronavirus jumped by 204.
