UK GAS-Prices slip as Norway flows rise

LONDON, July 27 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices fell on Thursday as supplies from Norway and domestic fields rose. * British within-day gas price down by 0.35 pence to 38.10 pence/therm at 0935 GMT. * Norwegian supplies rose by five million cubic metres (mcm/day) to 35 mcm/day; UK Continental Shelf production up by 3 mcm/day to 131 mcm/day. * British gas system undersupplied by 0.5 mcm, with demand forecast at 178.4 mcm and flows at 177.9 mcm/day, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data showed. * Traders said prices fell partly as a reaction to higher Norwegian and domestic output but also as a correction to strong price gains in the previous session. * Wednesday's rally came after Norwegian gas grid operator Gassco said it would extend maintenance at the Kollsnes gas processing platform - due to end on Thursday - to Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) . 1. * Maintenance at Kollsnes began on July 17. * August gas contract down by 0.55 pence at 38.10 p/therm. * Winter 2017 contract down by 0.05 pence to 45.40 p/therm. * Day-ahead gas price down by 0.80 pence to 37.90 p/therm. * In the Dutch gas market, the day-ahead gas price at the Dutch TTF hub was down by 0.20 euro to 15.20 euros per megawatt hour. * Benchmark Dec-17 EU carbon contract down by 0.04 euros at 5.21 euros per tonne. * Thomson Reuters (Dusseldorf: TOC.DU - news) analyst view: http://emea1.apps.cp.extranet.thomsonreuters.biz/cms/?pageid=united-kingdom-gas (Reporting by Oleg Vukmanovic; Editing by Adrian Croft)
