Footage of Cleveland Pools in Bath, the UK's oldest Lido. Cleveland Pools has been restored after standing derelict since the 1980s. The pools were at risk of demolition, but are now getting ready to reopen following an 18-year fundraising campaign led by members of the local community. On Saturday, 100 competition winners will be the first to enjoy a chilly swim in the as-yet unheated water, before it opens to the wider public next spring as a heated pool. The lido was built in 1815 during the regency of George IV, fed by water from the River Avon. The water is now from the mains, but is being heated by the river via a series of heat pumps.
