UK Parliament Holds Minute's Silence for Slain Conservative MP David Amess

Members of the UK Parliament held a minute’s silence on October 18 to pay tribute to the Conservative MP David Amess after he was fatally stabbed on Friday, October 15.

The MP was killed during a meeting with constituents in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

On Sunday evening, his family released a statement to the media that said their “hearts are shattered” by what happened, and described his death as “cruel and violent.”
