UK Police Break Up Illegal Nightclub and 'Covid Arms' Pop-Up Pub

West Midlands Police said they issued multiple fines over the weekend of February 13-14 after they discovered a garage workshop that had been turned into a bar in Dudley and 150 people at an illegal nightclub in Birmingham.

Video released by the police shows officers entering the club. Thermal images show people escaping via the roof. The footage also shows officers discovering a gym and a music studio in the same building.

Police said officers had bottles thrown at them in the club, and that one officer suffered minor injuries after a door was smashed. Seventy people were fined £200 and the DJ could be fined £10,000 for breaking COVID-19 restrictions.

The footage goes on to show officers entering a garage workshop in Dudley on Saturday, with a sign for “The Covid Arms” on the wall. Police said they allowed the people there to leave, but the owner was fined £1,000. Credit: West Midlands Police via Storyful
