UK to send 8,000 troops to eastern Europe for NATO exercises

The UK will send 8,000 British Army troops to take part in NATO exercises across eastern Europe, in the biggest European deployment since the Cold War. International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan said Putin's war in Ukraine had made NATO members in the region "very anxious", adding: "This exercise will be a chance for all our military to work together to make sure that they are at readiness.".
