UK tourists slapped with £624 fine for 'taking their top off' in Spain
Tourists face a £624 fine for taking their tops off in Spain. Malaga city is so fed up of tourists dressing inappropriately, they are putting up signs telling tourists to put some clothes on or risk getting a big fine, European Union holidaymakers have been warned.
The City Council is placing posters around Malaga City instructing tourists to follow clothing guidelines that cover the upper body while sightseeing. The posters feature the phrase ‘dress completely’ and warn of 750 euro fines - or £624.
The posters were put up after complaints about tourists strolling city streets in bikinis, or without shirts, or only in swimming costumes. The posters, titled “Improve your stay in Malaga”, also point out three other areas in which tourists and city visitors should refine their behaviour.

They are asking travellers to Malaga to use litter garbage cans, containers, and other services to keep the city clean, as well as to be careful around monuments, historical heritage, gardens and public furniture. “Do not shout, sing, or turn up the volume of your music,” the poster reads.
“Respect the resting hours of your neighbours, including the elderly, the sick, students, children and essential workers.” The tourist board also reminded visitors that sidewalks are for pedestrians. If any Brits go nude on a non-nudist beach, they can expect a stern dressing down to go with a £620 fine.
The biggest fine Brits can be hit with is in regards to beach barbecues. A bit of a grey area, any Brits hoping to hold one should seek permission beforehand because in some areas such as Salobrena, you can be handed a massive £2,500 fine.
British tourists are often accused of leary behaviour and drunken antics and the laws have been brought in, partly in an attempt to rein such activities in.
