UK weather: Snow for Scotland and northern England as temperatures drop during weekend
The UK is set for a colder weekend that could bring snow to Scotland and northern England, forecasters say.
Thursday’s rain is set to clear, with Friday looking bright, sunny and dry, but conditions are unsettled into the weekend.
Meteorologist Martin Bowles from the Met Office said: “There will be wet and strong windy spells coming through over the next few days.
“In general we are expecting some colder air blowing over the whole of the UK, and so we are seeing a very good chance of snow on higher ground in Scotland and a reasonable chance of snow on low levels of Scotland and northern England during the weekend.”
A very active #jetstream will bring further wet and windy weather our way this #weekend.

Max temperatures during the weekend for England and Wales varies between 9-12C, for Scotland it will be around 5-8C.
But temperatures will dip during the night, some parts of Scotland will probably be sub-zero.
This comes after the hottest February on record, when the max temperature recorded was 21.2C at Kew Gardens.
