Ukrainian Authorities Release Footage Showing Heavy Damage in Lysychansk

Ukrainian authorities released footage on June 5 showing heavy damage to parts of central Lysychansk, as Russian forces continued to shell the area.

On Firday, Ukraine said it had mounted a counterattack against the Russian military in Severodonetsk, which sits northeast of Lysychansk across the Siverskyi Donetsk River.

This video, published on Sunday by the Luhansk Regional Police, shows damage to a number of structures in Lysychansk. In a post accompanying the video, police said that shelling had damaged a humanitarian aid headquarters, where more than 40 civilians had been sheltering. The post said that authorities had not yet confirmed fatalities. Credit: Luhansk Region Police via Storyful
