UK's first 'renter village' opens in Cambridge with homes from £1,900 a month

The UK's first neighbourhood designed just for renters is now open in Cambridge with homes starting from £1,900 per month. Present Made started building its Eddington neighbourhood at the start of last year.

It has 373 pet-friendly homes including three and four bedroom houses and one to three bedroom apartments. Present Made said the homes have been made to a high standard, with shared facilities including an on-site gym and fitness studio, cinema rooms, pet spa, co-working and green spaces.

Eddington and its growing number of developments, businesses and population, is part of the University of Cambridge's "masterplan to create a sustainable neighbourhood that contributes to the city’s wider growth in terms of population and economic potential", a Present Made spokesperson said.

Present Made joins an already developing town and community in Eddington, with homes, independent businesses, sports facilities and education including the University of Cambridge Primary School, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.

Operations director Anthony Lewis said: “We’re extremely proud of what we have created at Present Made and believe we are setting a new standard and laying the groundwork for an evolution within the rental market. Our homes have been carefully curated by an expert team with vast experience in property, sustainability and interior design and these skills have helped deliver a development that is breaking barriers and disrupting the rental market.

"We’re looking forward to continuing to change renting for the better and will be bringing Present Made to other upcoming areas around the country in the future.”

Prices start at £1,900 a month. Renters will be able to decorate each home as they please, with no deposit required and flexible-length contracts.
