UK's 'most luxurious' jacket potatoes worth £50 each to be given away free in Hull

The UK's "most luxurious jacket potatoes" will be given away for free at a Hull bingo hall this month.

Mecca Bingo is teaming up with viral sensation Spudman, aka Ben Newman, to unveil the lavish delicacy, with each one said to be worth more than £50. The 'Jackpot Jack Pot' turns "the humble spud into a gourmet experience", featuring saffron butter-infused lobster tail, premium caviar, fresh truffle shavings, shredded Gruyére cheese, edible gold leaf and more.

The spectacular limited-edition spuds will be given away for free, while stocks last, at Mecca Bingo, in Clough Road, between noon and 2pm on Wednesday, November 20. All you need to do is turn up!

It will be the first stop on a national tour for Tamworth-based Spudman - who has more than 5.3 million social media followers - who is hitting the road in his distinctive trailer to share the potato love with this decadent dish. Other locations on his travels will include Stevenage and Blackpool.

The giveaway comes on the back of Mecca Bingo research showing 70 per cent of Brits consider the humble spud as one of their favourite winter comfort foods, while more than half of those polled (55 per cent) seek more 'elevated' versions of the classic dish.
