Ulrika Jonsson has hit back after being trolled over a boozy evening out, saying she “will not go quietly into the night of old age”.

The former Gladiators presenter, 54, found herself under fire after going on a bit of a “bender” after celebrating her daughter's 21st, which ended with two men — her daughter’s old school friends — staying over at her house.

Writing in The Sun, Jonsson said she’d had a negative comment online about going out partying and that her 13-year-old son’s school’s safeguarding officer had called to say they’d seen on her social media that she’d had two strange men at the house and wanted to know if her son had been there at the time.

The star said in the paper that she’d never put her children’s safety at risk.

And she has now addressed the issue on Instagram, writing: “My behaviour may make some people feel uncomfortable.

“But I will not go quietly into the night of old age.

“I have dedicated my life to caring for others. I have more years behind me than I do in front of me. I intend to spend them as I want.”

Jonsson said that her “family are my everything”.

“But I, too, am quite something,” added the mum-of-four.

The TV star added the hashtag “#over50andfabulous”.
