Ulrika Jonsson has showed off her latest inking, a horse image that pays tribute to her Swedish heritage.

The presenter posted a photo of the ornate horse tattoo to Instagram on Tuesday with the hashtag "dalahäst", indicating that it is a representation of a traditional carved wooden statue from the Swedish province of Dalarna.

One follower noted they had received one such souvenir from the Nordic country, with Jonsson replying: "Their individually hand painted. Long tradition from Dalarna, Sweden. 🇸🇪."(sic)

The mother-of-four was born in Sweden and lived there until she moved to the UK at the age of 12 with her mother.

It's not the first tattoo she's got that refers to her homeland – she also has an inking of three crowns, the Swedish national emblem.

The 53-year-old already has a number of other tattoos, and previously shared in The Sun that she got her first after she was outed for being unfaithful to her first husband John Turnbull in the 90s.

Jonsson said she had it marked on to her bottom to reflect how she felt about herself at the time.

Among them, the Gladiators host has a tribute to her late father Bo with the word “Pappa” on her collarbone, and “Mamma” on her foot to mark her own motherhood.

On top of her right arm, Jonsson has a classic heart shape with a banner reading "Jen2", her nickname for ex-husband Brian Monet.

She also has a matching symbol on the nape of her neck, done with ex-partner Marcus Kempen.

She has her children’s initials tattooed on her wrist: B for Bo, C for Cameron and M for Martha, and when youngest son Malcolm came along she added another M above the original three letters.

She also has a paw print from her dog Dexter on her shoulder after he died aged just four, and an arm tattoo that includes the word “feminist” spelt phonetically.

Earlier this year, the Celebrity Big Brother winner revealed she had had a few more done, including a bulldog in an apron, to honour her love of the breed.

In addition, she had the Leo sign inked on her wedding finger and a matching Morse Code tattoo with a friend.
