When it comes to the possibility of a second season of Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, it seems the cast know just as much as the rest of us.

Speaking on a panel at the MCM Comic Con in Birmingham today (March 24), Tom Hopper, who plays Number One (AKA Luther Hargreeves), and Emmy Raver-Lampman, who plays Number Three (AKA Allison Hargreeves), confessed they have no idea if another series is happening.

Asked if they have any news about a sophomore season, Emmy replied: "I wish! Call up Netflix."

However, the actors are fully aware of just how popular the series has become, albeit slightly surprised.

"I definitely am shocked," said Emmy. "We have no idea because Netflix holds all their numbers really close. But they are very excited."

Tom added: "It's great to see the response from the fans, because that's a telling sign.

"Until I turned up here today [at MCM Comic Con Birmingham] you get an idea that the show's doing well with a bit of online chat, and people call you up and say, 'watched the show man, it's great'. But it's great to see the response from the people and see how excited they are about it.

Tom admitted he didn't realise how huge the show would become whilst filming it, and that it was a pleasant surprise to come to his first Comic Con and witness first-hand how the fanbase is growing.
