UN Chief Condemns Attack on Gaza School That Left 6 UNRWA Staff Dead

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned an Israeli attack on a school housing displaced people in Gaza that left six UNRWA staff members among at least 18 dead.

“What’s happening in Gaza is totally unacceptable,” Guterres said in a post on X.

Footage from local outlet Quds Feed shows crowds gathered at the al-Jaouni School in Nuseirat following the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces said the school was being used as “a command and control complex” by Hamas.

“The command and control complex was used by Hamas terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist operations against the IDF forces and the State of Israel,” they said.

The school was also hit in July, killing at least 16 people. Credit: Quds Feed via Storyful
