'Unacceptable' habit tourists in Spain do that locals hate and could get you fined
Spain, a favourite holiday destination for Brits, is known for its sunshine, beaches and of course - cheap pints. However, there's one common tourist mistake that can quickly sour relations with the locals: binge drinking.
Christian Wolf, CEO of CW Real Estate Ibiza, warns that excessive drinking could not only earn you disapproving looks from locals but also potentially land you in legal trouble.
"Although binge drinking may be common practice in many countries, people in Spain like to take their time with drinking," he explains. "Tourists often come to Spain ready to party, but what they don't realise is that binge drinking is not as accepted here."

Overindulgence has become such an issue in some areas that six-drink limits have been imposed in rowdier resorts. This rule is currently enforced at all-inclusives in Magaluf, Playa de Palma, El Arnel in Majorca, and San Antonio in Ibiza, with potential plans to expand if successful.
Despite these measures, Wolf assures that Spanish locals do enjoy a drink occasionally, albeit with a different approach, reports the Express.
Wolf adds: "Many Spaniards like to go out and have several drinks over the span of an evening while snacking on tapas and other small bites. This way they are not just drinking to get drunk, but to enjoy their time with their friends and family and have longevity throughout the night."
If you're planning a trip to Spain and want to blend in with the locals, it's important to remember to pace yourself.
"Drinking too much, to the point where you show disrespect to locals and cause property damage, is one of the biggest mistakes you can make."
