Unai Emery appears to have confirmed his appointment as the new Arsenal manager on his official website.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager's page, linked to on his official Twitter account, bore the message "proud to be part of the Arsenal family" the day after it became apparent that Emery would be appointed Arsene Wenger's successor.

At the time of writing the image had not been removed from Emery's website, though Arsenal have told Standard Sport that there are no immediate plans for an official announcement from the club.

Emery is expected to be formally announced as the new Arsenal manager in the coming days after a thorough process that saw several candidates interviewed for the role before it was unanimously decided to opt for the 46-year-old.

The Spaniard departed Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel, having won the Ligue 1 title but failed to make significant progress in the Champions League. Emery does, however, have three Europa League medals to his name from his time at Sevilla.

It is understood that Arsenal expect to make an announcement and present Emery to the media before the end of the week.
