Unai Emery has made a request to NSWE which will enhance Aston Villa before defining run
Unai Emery has revealed that he hopes for new floodlights to be installed at Aston Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground in order to broaden the opportunities to train later in the days. Emery is well versed in what it takes to be successful in European football competitions and boasts an enviable track record.
The Spaniard, when enjoying success with Sevilla and Villarreal, has been able to alter the timings of training sessions depending on how the club's schedule looked like in that moment, meaning his squads have trained later in the day - something that the English weather doesn't necessarily lend itself to without artificial lighting.
Emery has revealed in an interview with Spanish media outlet RTVE that Villa want to introduce lighting to Bodymoor Heath, at a time when Villa's fixture demands are especially testing; they'll play seven matches spanning three competitions before the November international break in a month.

"When you leave your country everything changes, the food, the schedules, even the schedules they have, since here in England it is difficult to see training in the afternoons," Emery told RTVE. "In fact in this sports city there are no lights to train, something that we want to install because, especially now playing in Europe, we need to train at 5pm in the afternoon, at 6pm in the afternoon and in winter here at 3:30pm it is night."
Villa head to Fulham on Saturday before they welcome Bologna to Villa Park in the Champions League and then host Bournemouth in the Premier League and Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup. The Lions are back on the road when visiting Tottenham at the beginning of November, before they visit Club Brugge and tackle Liverpool at Anfield as part of a challenging away day triple header.
