Unai Emery reveals deadline day transfer 'not 100 per cent' as he addresses Aston Villa deals
Unai Emery says he is "very happy" with the business Aston Villa have completed this summer as the clock ticks down to tonight's 11pm deadline.
Villa had to balance their books at the start of the window to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and also UEFA's financial controls.
Villa sold Douglas Luiz for £42m to Juventus after parting with academy graduates Tim Iroegbunam and Omari Kellyman, before Moussa Diaby left for Al-Ittihad in a deal worth £50.5m. Villa have spent more money than they have taken in this summer and have been unable to make space and free up some more money to add a defender to Emery's squad.

The club have been frustrated in their attempts to sign another defender after seeing top target Lutsharel Geertruida head for RB Leipzig in a deal worth around £21m.
Diego Carlos came close to joining Fulham, but a move collapsed earlier this month before the Cottagers signed Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace. As well as Geertruida, Villa were said to be interested in Liverpool's Joe Gomez and Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah.
Asked if he is pleased with Villa's summer business, Emery said: "Yes, very happy because we did what we planned at the beginning and the squad we have now with some important players, like Mings and Kamara, Buendia, they are coming back progressively.
"Not yet Kamara and Mings, but they are important players. Last year Jacob Ramsey didn’t play consistently but hopefully he will be this season at the level he was previously showing us. I am very happy."
Leander Dendoncker is expected to leave on loan to Anderlecht, while Enzo Barrenechea's loan move to Valencia will shortly be confirmed.
"We were trying to make decisions with some players, one of them is Barrenechea and he left yesterday to join Valencia," Emery said. "The second one was Dendoncker and I think he is leaving today, but that is not 100 per cent a done deal. Hopefully he can show consistency and recover his good level."
