Tuesday's (December 18) special Christmas edition of The Undateables delivered all the warm, happy, festive feelings you could possibly want.

The Undateables: A Festive Proposal brought back some familiar faces to see how their love lives were going over the Christmas period. And for one couple, things were going from strength to strength.

Around this time last year, previously unlucky-in-love autistic singer/songwriter Daniel Wakeford began dating Lily Taylor, who has learning difficulties.

A year on and the couple have fallen completely in love with each other, so much so that Daniel decided to pop the question.

During the episode, we saw Daniel nervously prepare to ask Lily to be his wife and shop for the perfect engagement ring with his dad.

With a beautiful sparkler picked, it was time for the big proposal at the Brighton band stand – and Daniel had really pulled out all the stops.

The singer was joined by a full choir to perform a rendition of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', just for Lily.

After the performance, Daniel told his girlfriend: "Have I got a Christmas surprise for you.

"I love you, I always have and I always will. Lily, my darling one, will you marry me?"

Lily reacted by happily screaming "yes" and with a ring on her finger, she danced with her fiancè as the choir sang and she told him: "I'm so happy."

The super-romantic moment had viewers reaching for their tissues, with some declaring it one of the best TV moments of the year.

Congratulations to Lily and Daniel! Let's hope we also get an invite to their big day.

The Undateables airs on Channel 4.
