Unexpected guest shocks groom during wedding ceremony: 'What are you doing here?'

A bride shocked her groom during their wedding ceremony earlier this month, thanks to some help from an iconic sports mascot.

Shannon Doherty pulled off the surprise during the first look portion of her wedding, when she and now husband Kevin were meant to see each other for the first time during their big day.

Doherty told WTXF-TV that Kevin is a "huge fan" of the Philadelphia Phillies, including the baseball team's mascot, the Phillie Phanatic. The bride decided that playing on that fanhood could add some levity to their ceremony.

"Kevin is the sweetest man in the world and I knew our first look could be emotional for him," Doherty told WTXF. "So I wanted to do anything I could to bring some humor and fun to the big moment."

The moment was captured in an Instagram video shared by the Pennsylvania-based florist Flowers By Jena Paige. In it, Kevin can be seen blindfolded, preparing to see his bride-to-be.

Doherty, meanwhile, is hiding behind him, smiling as her future husband faces the Phanatic.

Kevin is stunned as he removes his blindfold and sees the mascot, wearing a bridal veil over its red Phillies hat.

"No way. What's up? What are you doing here?” Kevin says, laughing and rubbing his face in awe.

The comedy quickly turns to a heartwarming moment though, as the husband turns around and finally sees Doherty.

"His reaction to seeing his beloved mascot was almost as great as his emotional and touching reaction when he turned to see me," Shannon told WTXF. "Everything was perfect."
