Unforgotten season 3 makes a welcome return to ITV

Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar make a welcome return in Unforgotten season 3 on ITV.

Unforgotten season 3 sees DCI Cassie Stuart (Walker) and DI Sunil "Sunny" Khan (Bhaskar) return to ITV this evening (July 15).

There had been talk that a third season might not happen, but fans were delighted to learn on 2 March 2017 that the BAFTA-nominated series would be back. There hasn't been any news yet on whether a fourth season will happen.

ITV's thriller has already pleased fans with its twists and turns over the course of two seasons and if the reactions to the first episode of the new season are anything to go by, the third season will be no different.

DCI Stuart and DI Khan are investigating yet another emotionally-charged cold case. Walker and Bhaskar will be joined by Alex Jennings, Kevin R McNally, Neil Morrissey and James Fleet, who play a group of old school friends whose lives are turned upside down when the body of a teenage girl is found near the M1 motorway.

This girl had been reported missing in the year 2000 and the group's relationships will be severely tested when the investigation centres upon the four of them.

Unforgotten will return to ITV next Sunday (July 22) at 9pm.
