Previously unreleased material from George Harrison will be played at a listening party in Liverpool today. The Jacaranda, an iconic venue in the city's music scene which The Beatles played many times in their early years, will host the official global listening party for the newly remastered 50th anniversary edition of George’s 1973 album, 'Living in the Material World', at 5.30pm today.

This special edition includes previously unreleased material from George along with new mixes of the classic album, curated by George's son Dhani and his widow Olivia Harrison. The 50th-anniversary re-release includes fresh tracks and remastered versions that bring new life to the legendary Beatle's original vision, overseen by Grammy Award-winning engineer Paul Hicks.

This mix is said to enhance the album with brighter, richer, and more dynamic sound, inviting listeners to experience 'Living in the Material World' as never before. Attendees at The Jacaranda can enjoy exclusive giveaways and take part in an intimate celebration of this historic release.

The Jacaranda invites all fans and patrons to join the celebration at the bar on Slater Street at 5.30pm for what promises to be a memorable hour honouring George Harrison’s enduring legacy and message of peace. Olivia Harrison said: "I hope you revisit 'Living in the Material World' or discover it for the first time, and as you listen, share George’s wish for himself and mankind… Give me Love, Give me Peace on Earth.”

Dhani Harrison also expressed excitement for the 50th-anniversary edition, saying: “Finally, we are overjoyed to present to you the 50th anniversary package of George Harrison’s Living in the Material World. For those of you who are just discovering this album; This record was released in service and with deep love for all our Brothers and Sisters around the world who populate this dualistic system we live in called Earth. Peace be upon all sentient beings.”

Veso Mihaylov, head of bookings at Jacaranda Records said: “We’ve hosted many official listening parties at The Jacaranda, including events for The Rolling Stones, Fontaines D.C., and Charli XCX, but this one feels special due to George’s connection with our venue. It’s been 64 years since George played his first gig as a Beatle here at The Jacaranda.

Veso added: "The same space will be filled with people listening to his music, celebrating 50 years of this iconic album. It’s a full-circle moment, and we couldn’t be more honoured to share it with our community.”
