A pro-union demonstration was held outside Amazon corporate offices in Manhattan on January 12 as the e-commerce giant’s CEO Jeff Bezos marked his 58th birthday.

This footage by Ed Quinn shows demonstrators holding pickets and chanting outside the Amazon building on West 34th Street.

“Jan. 12 will be ‘Happy Unbirthday’ for Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and the richest man in the world,” the demonstration organizers said in a press release. “The protest focus is ‘Amazon! Recognize and negotiate with workers’ organizations and unions! Stop union busting now!’”

The demonstration came as The National Labor Relations Board ordered a second union election at an Amazon facility in Bessemer, Alabama, after it was reported a board representative found Amazon violated labor law during a vote last year in which workers sided against unionization.
