Unique Liverpool gym offering TikTok trend
A unique Liverpool gym is offering fitness fanatics the chance to get involved with the latest trend. The Origin Gym in Speke is an official training club for Hyrox - the competition taking TikTok by storm.
Hyrox is a timed workout challenge that combines running with eight functional workout stations. In total, you will run five miles inside, with each mile being broken up with rowing, SkiErg, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls.
The competition can be done in pairs, either mixed-gendered or same-sex, or solo. Hyrox takes place all over the world, from Dublin and Paris to London and Stockholm—the closest to Merseyside being in Manchester.

However, those who want to try their luck at it don’t have to travel that far to get experience. The Origin Gym on Goodlass Road offers Hyrox simulation days. The next takes place on Saturday, January 4 and offers athletes the chance to see how far their training has come along.
There will be no crowds at the New Year event, but there will be a built-in Roxzone, all the categories, and a timing breakdown of splits.
If you can’t wait until then, PureGym at the Lewis’s Building on Ranelagh Street offers beginner to advanced classes. Accredited coaches teach these, and are specifically designed to help improve technique, strength, and endurance across the eight exercises in a Hyrox competition.
