University of Birmingham issues scam warning to students over tuition fee payments
The University of Birmingham has issued a scam warning to students over tuition fee payments. It sent an alert surrounding a fake email.
The scam message had tried to get students to pay outstanding tuition fees by yesterday, Saturday, October 26. The uni confirmed the email is fake.
It warned that students to not reply or send any money to the account. The warning on social media was issued by the university yesterday. It is not clear if anyone has fallen victim to the scam, which prompted the alert.

UoB posted on Instagram: "We are aware that a fake email is circulating asking students to make payment of outstanding tuition fees by 26/10/24. The email and message is fake. DO NOT reply and DO NOT send any money to the account."
