Unknown T charged with murder of Steven Narvaez-Jara at party in north London

Drill rapper Unknown T has been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Steven Narvaez-Jara at a New Year's party in Islington.

The 19-year-old, real name Daniel Lena, is due to appear in court on Thursday charged with murder and violent disorder.

Lena, of Hackney, was bailed and released under investigation in November 2018, before being charged on July 6 by postal requisition, a police spokesman said.

The rapper, who has appeared on BBC Radio 1's playlist and reached 48 in the UK singles chart, has recently teamed up with AJ Tracey for the single Leave Dat Trap.

He was also brought on stage by Drake during his opening London show at the O2 in April.

Detectives have also charged two other men in connection with the north London stabbing, which took place in the early hours of New Year's Day 2018.

Mohammed Musse, 20, of Hackney, has been charged with violent disorder and Ramani Boreland, 20, also of Hackney, with murder and violent disorder.

Musse was first arrested on New Year's Day 2018, while Boreland and Lena were arrested in the days after Mr Narvaez-Jara was attacked.

The charges come more than a year and a half after the fatal stabbing of Mr Narvaez-Jara, who was found with stab injuries at a flat in Bartholomew Court at 2.35am.

The 20-year-old, from Belvedere, in Kent, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 20, was also found with stab injuries nearby but has subsequently recovered.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward by calling the incident room on 020 8345 3865 or by calling 101.
