UnREAL is expected to end after season 4

From Digital Spy

UnREAL looks set to end after its upcoming fourth season, and on a different network to boot.

The Shiri Appleby drama series has aired on Lifetime for its first three seasons, though according to The Hollywood Reporter, it may end with its fourth.

On top of that, the season will apparently air first on streaming platform Hulu, though the deal is still being worked out at the moment.

Hulu is also UnREAL's SVOD home in the US, so if it does gain the first airing rights, it wouldn't come as a huge surprise. However, season four is not expected to air until 2019, so we may have a long wait yet.

The third season of the show came to an end last month, and showrunner Stacy Rukeyser has been teasing what we can expect from the next season.

"Jeremy is not coming back for season 4, and that was purely a story decision, and a really hard one because there's a lot of love for [actor] Josh Kelly," Rukeyser said. "But storywise, it just felt like the right thing to do because he has gone on a big journey this season."

The showrunner also confirmed that Dr Simon would not be coming back, though she did tease that it will feature an all-star season of show-within-a-show Everlasting.

UnREAL follows a young reality TV producer who is pushed by her boss to drum up salacious show content.

UnREAL (currently) airs on Lifetime in the US and on Amazon Prime in the UK.
