A new appeal has been launched to find Solihull man who has been missing for weeks. James from Smith's Wood was last seen around 12am on Friday, January 3.

At the time he was wearing a black puffer jacket, blue jeans and white Nike trainers. A missing persons appeal was made on Monday of this week (January 20) urging anyone that has seen the 26-year-old to call 999.

Now West Midlands Police has issued new images of James and said ‘we are really concerned for his welfare’. James was last seen in the Stechford area of Birmingham, ‘wearing a black coat with distinctive logo on the side, blue jeans and white trousers and was carrying a number of carrier bags’.

“We are releasing some fresh images of James and hope someone may recognise him and tell us where he is. He was last seen in Stechford where he was wearing a black coat with distinctive logo on the side, blue jeans and white trousers and was carrying a number of carrier bags.

“If you see him ring 999 quoting log number 3950-180125.”

In response to the post a member of the public Amy Jackson said: “He was sleeping rough in our bin shed just after Christmas. We asked him what had happened and he said his family threw him out.

“So me and my neighbours gave him food, hot drinks, blankets and I gave him a long coat that’s black on the top and cream on the bottom a bit like how North Face puffer coats look, and my neighbour said she called for an ambulance as it was stupidly cold and he didn’t look well!

“The police knocked my door a few days ago asking about James and I told them that he was sleeping rough in our bin shed. It wasn’t up until the police arrived we knew he was reported missing!

“We will all keep an eye out if he returns as he was very well hidden away I didn’t even notice him in there at first! Hopefully he is found safe and well.”
