Urgent food recall update as more than 50 products pulled from shops over allergy risk

Several more food products have been pulled from the shelves at multiple supermarkets and retailers as part of a major recall over an allergy risk.

Earlier this week, FGS Ingredients Ltd issued a recall for more than 50 items because they may contain peanuts, posing a possible health hazard to anyone with an allergy. Among the products in the initial recall were a garlic and herb dip sold at Aldi, dip pots sold by Domino's, sandwich fillers and potato salad from Booker as well as several sandwiches, wraps and pasta salads sold at Spar.

An update by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has now alerted shoppers to nine more products on the recall list, which includes a BBQ sauce dip pot as well as multiple macaroni cheese products sold under several different brand names at different stores. The FSA advises anyone who has purchased these items and has a peanut allergy not to eat them, and instead dispose of them or return them to the store from where they were bought to receive a refund.
