Urgent search for girls, 11 and 12, who went missing on their way back from school

Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a pair of schoolgirls who went missing while they were making their way home from school.

Concerns are growing for Leah Taylor, 11, who is believed to have gone missing with her 12-year-old friend Leah Smith.

The girls were last seen leaving Marvell College in the Holderness Road area of Hull at around 12.10pm on Monday.

Leah Taylor is white, around 5ft tall, slim, with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing her school uniform which is a black blazer, white shirt with a black and yellow tie, black trousers, black shoes and a brown school bag.

Leah Smith is white, 4 feet 8 inches tall, slim, with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing the same school uniform.

Police have had reported sightings of the pair in the Marfleet Lane area of Hull on Monday night.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “We’re appealing for help in locating missing 11-year-old Leah Taylor who was last seen leaving school in the Holderness Road area of Hull at around 12.10pm on Monday, October 16.

“Leah is described as being white, around 5ft tall of slim build with shoulder length brown hair.

“She was wearing a black blazer, white shirt with a black and yellow tie, black trousers, black shoes and a brown school bag.”
