Urgent warning over food items sold at Spar and other stores

A warning has been issued over food items sold at various stores as they may contain peanuts.

The alert, sent out by the Food Standards Agency, warns people who have an allergy to peanuts not to eat the products, which have been recalled. Among the items are dip pots sold by Domino's as well as several sandwiches, wraps and pasta salads sold at Spar, the Chronicle Live has reported.

The Food Standards Agency said: "FGS Ingredients Ltd is recalling several products containing mustard powder because they may contain peanuts. This means these products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

"These products are sold under several different brand names at several different retail stores. If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them."

Domino's issued a warning over garlic and herb, and honey and mustard dip pots, saying: "Due to a supplier quality issue, we are recalling the above products as we have been advised they may contain traces of peanut which could pose a risk to those customers who have a peanut allergy. This affects the above products which were provided up to Sunday, 15th September 2024.

"Customers who have these dip pots at home should dispose of them. We apologise for the concern and inconvenience this issue may cause."
