This Is Us star Sterling K Brown’s upcoming series has added new cast members, including Sex/Life’s Sarah Shahi and Jury Duty’s James Marsden.

It was announced back in April that Brown, who played Randall Pearson in the NBC drama for six years, would be reuniting with the show’s creator Dan Fogelman for a new project.

Now TVLine has reported that a number of famous faces have been added to the cast of the Hulu series, with Shahi and Marsden joining forces with Mare of Easttown’s Julianne Nicholson.

The developing series doesn’t yet have a title, and not much is known about the show itself, except that it will be a drama.

It is reported that Marsden will play the president (with Brown potentially playing his head of security), Shahi will be a "therapist to some very important people" and Nicholson will portray a "political power broker".

Shahi posted the news on her Instagram, alongside an emotional caption where she revealed she is a big fan of This Is Us.

She said: "I wrote @danfogman a letter in 2014 saying how much the writing in This is Us meant to me. Here I am, 10 years later, starring in his show with the most stellar cast. I’ve been a long time admirer of all of their work. I simply can’t wait. I’m so very grateful. Ty ty ty see you on @hulu."

Marsden, who received his first Emmy nomination for his role in the Amazon Freevee comedy Jury Duty, tagged his new co-stars in his own Instagram post and said: "Excited for this new adventure… Will be a good one!"

In June, Brown teased his role in the new series to Variety, and revealed that it would be nothing like his beloved This Is Us character.

"It’s not Randall," he said. "The character is completely different, completely different milieu. But you know Dan – he can’t help but throw some heart in there. There is always going to be heart."

This Is Us aired on NBC in the US, and is available on Prime Video or Disney+ in the UK.
