US Contractor Shows Abandoned Weapons at Kabul Airport

Weapons, vehicles, and protective gear were left abandoned at Kabul airport on August 16, according to a US contractor who is based in the city.

Footage posted to Instagram by s.logan.p shows a store room beside a car park at Hamid Karzai International Airport. The source can be heard saying “these are all just abandoned weapons, PPE, and there’s no guards at all…I could just grab an AK if I wanted one.”

Chaos broke out at the airport on Monday as thousands of people flocked there in a bid to escape after the Afghan capital fell under Taliban control the previous day.
