US dessert cafe makes UK debut in Edinburgh as new venue opens near The Meadows

A US dessert parlour is making its UK debut with a new Edinburgh venue.

JARS, born in the USA, welcomed customers in at the start of the month offering dessert jars, coffees, juices and speciality sandwiches.

Located at 8 Lister Square, the brain behind JARS is Italian-born US chef Fabio Viviani, who promises to offer "the ultimate dessert experience".

With items on the menu including Red Velvet Cheesecake, Oreo Cookies and Cream, Zillionaire Shortbread and Tiramisu, the brand has reportedly become a "craze" in America.

JARS has opened locations across the States, including in Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas and Fort Worth. The Scottish capital is the first city in the UK to be offered the sweet treats.

In a post on Instagram, the team behind JARS said: "LOCATION ANNOUNCMENT. We will be based at 8 Lister Square, Edinburgh.

"Offering you delicious desserts and more. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon."

On October 25, the company announced their launch and said: "LAUNCHING NEXT WEEKEND! Take a look into our newly renovated space, created by @designmavenuk.

"Serving jars, coffees, juices, salads, sandwiches and pastries from next weekend at 8 Lister Square, Edinburgh. Time to Grab Life By The Cherries."
