US and RAF warplanes spotted zooming through the Lake District
US warplanes were spotted zooming through the Lake District last week.
Photographer Iain Knox managed to capture the F-35s training at low level in the area. He also spotted jets from the Swiss Air Force testing out their skills.
Iain says: "The USAF F-35 Lightnings are from Lakenheath, while the Swiss Air Force F/A-18C Hornet aircraft often come over for a training exercise with the RAF at this time of year and this one was also spotted near Keswick yesterday."

It comes after RAF airplanes flew over the Lake District on Thursday (November 21) on their way to Oxfordshire. An RAF Hawk T2 advanced trainer aircraft and an A400M transport aircraft were caught on camera by Sgt 'Matty' Matthews.
The 84-ton A400M completed an airdrop on Salisbury Plains before flying over Scotland and the Lake District and then passing through the Mach Loop in Wales and heading home to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
"Come rain or snow, RAF aircraft and their crews continue to operate whatever the weather," said the RAF, "In this case, with the snowy backdrop of the Eryri National Park behind them."
