US Says Iranian Forces Boarded Oil Tanker in International Waters

US Central Command said the Iranian military boarded a Liberian-flagged oil tanker on August 12, releasing footage which they said showed a helicopter involved in the incident. Two ships were also involved, the US said.

The AP reported, citing a US official, that the MV Wila was held for approximately five hours before it was released. The US military monitored the situation but was not involved further, Reuters said.
