US TV star Ellen DeGeneres 'flees US for Cotswolds' after Trump wins election
US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is said to have relocated to the UK to live in the Cotswolds with her wife, Portia de Rossi. The pair were spotted making a surprise appearance last week at Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer's Dog, in Burford, where they were seen alongside Australian singer, Natalie Imbruglia, enjoying a live acoustic performance by The Corrs.
It comes as Ellen, 66, and her actress wife Portia, 51, had been vocal about their desire to "get the hell out" of the United States if Donald Trump were to win the US election, according to gossip website TMZ.
And now it appears the couple, who have been married since 2008, may have made good on their promise. It is unclear when exactly they might have made the move, but Ellen and Portia have been seen at a number of exclusive parties in the area over the past few months.

Even as far back as November last year, Ellen joined Idris Elba in a DJ booth at a party in a 17th-century stately home in north Oxfordshire, reports The Times. If they really have relocated, they will join the ranks of many A-list celebrities who have chosen to make the Cotswolds region their home.
In fact, the MailOnline has reported that the region is home to more stars per acre than anywhere outside London, with around 50 celebrities who have second home in the Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire countryside.
This included Kate Winslet at one point - it is not know if she still has a home in the area - while Hugh Grant has also been rumoured for years to have a bolt-hole in the Cotswolds.
Others include David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Sir Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Damien Hirst, and Stella McCartney. Ellen was the face of The Ellen DeGeneres Show for 19 years, from 2003 until 2022. The show ended amid allegations of a toxic workplace, with Ellen accused of staff bullying and intimidation.
Ellen is now estimated by Forbes to be worth $450million dollars. And some reports suggest she has recently put her main home in the US on the market. It comes after DeGeneres also sold a home in Montecito, California, for $32million, less than a year after buying it, according to The Times.
