Usher Postpones First Past Present Future Tour Date in Atlanta to Give His Body a 'Second to Rest and Heal'

The "Good Good" singer is still scheduled to perform shows in Atlanta on Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17

Usher's Past Present Future Tour won't be kicking off on Wednesday, Aug. 14 after all.

Just hours before he was set to perform in Atlanta, the "Good Good" singer announced on social media that he was postponing his Wednesday show — the first of his new tour — to focus on giving himself a chance to rest.

"For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans," Usher's Instagram post began.

He went on to add, "You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me. The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start."

Usher's Past Present Future tour is set to be a celebration of the performer's long career in the music industry, featuring his classic songs alongside new hits.

While he remains committed to his first headlining tour since 2014, Usher said he's prioritizing his health to give fans the best experience possible.

"However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best," his message continued. "My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you."

Currently, Usher is still scheduled to perform his Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17 shows at Atlanta's State Farm Arena. Per his official site, the tour will continue through May 2025 with stops in major cities including Boston, Chicago, Toronto and London.

Although, this marks the singer's first major tour in nearly a decade, Usher has been remained busy thanks to his successful Las Vegas residency, which wrapped in December 2023, and the February release of his ninth studio album, Coming Home. He also headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.
