Lester Visaya enjoys hiking through Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah, and on December 13 he chose to summit Angels Landing, a 1,488 foot tall rock formation, after a light dusting of snow had covered the trail.
Visaya recorded footage as he hiked up the trail, showcasing the snowfall and the chains on either side of the pathway intended to offer support and safety to hikers as they approach the summit. This was Visaya’s first Angels Landing hike in the snow.
“It was never the heights that scared me about Angels Landing, it was the crowds of people that made me nervous. I actually found it safer in winter than in summer,” he told Storyful. Credit: Lester Visaya via Storyful
