Utah Snowstorm Blankets Roads as Weather Alerts Issued for Midwest

A snowstorm is expected to bring up to three feet of snow to parts of Utah over the Thanksgiving holidays, the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City said.

Drivers were caught in heavy snow on the morning on Wednesday, November 27, with eight inches reported at Snowbasin Resort by 9.30 am.

The National Weather Service said Wednesday’s highest snowfall accumulations would be in the Wasatch Mountains, Cache Valley, and the Northern Wasatch Valley.

Drivers were warned that light road snow and slush was expected northern Utah Wednesday morning into the afternoon. “Strong crosswinds expected for I-80 west of Salt Lake City Tuesday night-Wednesday morning,” the Utah Department of Transportation said. Credit: Snowbasin Resort via Storyful
