Uvalde Residents Gather for Vigil Following Deadly School Shooting

Residents gathered for a prayer vigil in Uvalde, Texas, on May 25 for the 21 people killed in a shooting at a local elementary school the day prior.

Footage by Tara Szczepanski shows the crowd, including Senator Ted Cruz, at Uvalde Fairplex Arena on Wednesday.

At least 19 students and two adults were killed in a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday.

Authorities say the shooting was carried out by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, who first shot his grandmother before driving to the school, where he “crashed outside,” the San Antonio Express-News reported, citing officials.

According to a report by CNN citing officials, the gunman was on the premises for up to an hour before law enforcement forcibly entered a classroom and killed him. Credit: Tara Szczepanski via Storyful
