Yahoo News V Wars' Ian Somerhalder talks wife's "unexpected" role on Netflix show
The Vampire Diaries favourite Ian Somerhalder has waxed lyrical about working with his wife Nikki Reed on Netflix series V Wars.
Ian and Nikki have been married since 2015 and share a two-year-old daughter named Bodhi Soleil.
And it seems like the couple just can't get enough of each other on-screen too, as Ian recently told Fox News it was "really amazing" getting to collaborate with her on the show.

"Initially, the producers wanted her to play my wife, and she said, 'No, I appreciate that,' but she wanted to play something that was more unexpected, and she did and crushed it," he explained.
"She's now this really well-known jewellery designer, and she's built this incredible sustainable company.
"So to see her go in ultra-prepared... breastfeeding our baby, making sketches on conference calls, building this company, put it all down, walk onto set, deliver these powerful, nuanced performances, give everyone a hug and leave – you're just like, 'Whoa, what was that?'"

Somerhalder went on to label Nikki a "powerhouse", before adding: "It was amazing being able to watch her and be on set with her because we're so lovey-dovey in life and these characters were sort of at each other a bit. It was an amazing experience."
V Wars season one is available to stream on Netflix.
