The Valencia Emergency Service told residents in the community of Alcublas, Spain, to stay indoors on August 18, due to smoke from the Bejis fire.
The Bejis fire had burned 13,400 hectares (about 52 square miles) as of Thursday.
Local news reports said rainfall early on Thursday morning helped contain both the Bejis fire and the Vall d’Ebo fire, which, combined, had burned over 25,000 hectares (around 96 square miles) in Valencia to date.
