Prediction: Valencia 1-2 Barcelona

Barca have not been beaten by Valencia in their last three LaLiga meetings, and it should be the case again here - especially with Lionel Messi back.

Team news and lineups

Valencia XI: Domenech, Gabriel, Kondogbia, Soler, Gameiro, Gaya, Coquelin, Wass, Ferran, Gomez, Garay

Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen, Roberto, Umtiti, Pique, Jordi Alba, De Jong, Arthur, Bsquets, Messi, Griezmann, Ansu Fati

Riqui Puig will miss out, but Frenkie de Jong returns from suspension. Puig started in Ibiza, but missed Friday’s training session through illness and is out of the squad.

Ansu Fati keeps his place in attack, with Antoine Griezmann in a central role in the absence of the injured Luis Suarez, who is out for four months after knee surgery.

Griezmann scored both Barca goals as the Catalans came from behind to beat Ibiza and Quique Setien said on Friday that the French forward can play the role of striker while the Uruguayan is out.

Winger Ousmane Dembele is still sidelined and Neto is also absent after he was injured on Wednesday. In the Brazilian’s absence, young goalkeeper Inaki Pena will start on the bench for the Blaugrana.

Barca B midfielder Alex Collado has also been called up the squad. Valencia are without captain Dani Parejo through suspension, while Goncalo Guedes and Cristiano Piccini are both still sidelined.

Barca are unbeaten in their last seven LaLiga games against Valencia, though they suffered a painful Copa del Rey final defeat last season.

The last time they met in the league, Barca ran out 5-2 winners at Camp Nou on Setember 14.
