Katie Maloney is trying out a new look.

The Vanderpump Rules star, 36, took to her Instagram Story to share a behind-the-scenes look at her relaxing Tuesday night at home — which included watching the MTV VMAs and temporarily dyeing her hair red.

In one video, the reality star could be seen telling her 1.6 million followers that she had been “cleaning out some products” when she found a tube of “temporary color styling gel” in a red color. “It’s supposed to work on brunette hair, so let’s see,” she said to the camera while holding up the bottle.

In the next snap, she showed the bright red gel on her hand, as she asked, “Are we seeing this color?” She then laughed as she hyped herself up to put the gel in her hair, saying, “Okay.”

She revealed what her hair looked like with the red styling gel in another video, saying, “This is what we’re left with. You can’t even see, like, the proper color. It just looks like orange or coppery, but it’s just wet and stiff right now so when it air dries, it’s supposed to, like, break up the casting.”

It appeared she wasn’t totally content with the look as she wrote over the video, “I think I’m just gonna go eat more pizza and try to forget.”

She briefly showed Shakira’s performance during the MTV VMA’s before sharing a selfie posing on her couch with her slicked back red-copper hair on full display. “I’m carrot top. Tight,” she joked in the Instagram Story.

This comes a month after her ex-husband Tom Schwartz, 40, debuted platinum blonde hair on his Instagram in mid-August. He was initially seen with the light locks while hanging out at the Mondrian hotel in Los Angeles on Aug. 12, according to E! News.

He reportedly teased to paparazzi who asked about the drastic hair change from his classic brown locks that the decision to go blonde was due to a “midlife crisis,” per Page Six. He also joked that it was his “blonde ambition tour,” referring to Madonna’s 1990 tour in which she rocked bright blonde locks with dark brows, and that he has “gotta finish the summer strong.”

Maloney filed for divorce in March and announced the pair's split after 12 years together on Instagram.

"After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship," she wrote in the statement.

The former couple reiterated this during Dear Media's You're Gonna Love Me with Katie Maloney podcast, in which  Schwartz said, "We're still hanging out, not in an unhealthy, exorbitant way, but we give each other space, boundaries. We're still buddies, we still check in on each other."

"I'm happy that we're still close," he added. "I think, relatively speaking, we've done a d— good job divorcing each other."
