The explosive 'Vanderpump Rules' season 11 trailer reveals long-buried secrets, Scandoval fallout, and the return of Jax Taylor

  • "Vanderpump Rules" season 11 will premiere January 30, 2024, Bravo announced Monday.

  • Exes Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval both return, and the season will show the aftermath of their split.

  • Rachel (formerly Raquel) Leviss, who infamously had an affair with Sandoval, won't return to the show.

The first extended trailer for "Vanderpump Rules" season 11 has arrived, and it's delightfully messy.

The sneak peek frontloads the aftermath of the reality TV juggernaut known as Scandoval, as Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval continue to coexist within the same friend circle after splitting amid his affair with former costar Rachel "Raquel" Leviss. But the two-minute trailer makes clear that Scandoval is far from the only drama we'll see unfold this season.

Former main cast member Jax Taylor makes an appearance in a confrontation with Lisa Vanderpump, ex-spouses Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz make out with the same woman in an apparent love triangle, and, perhaps most shockingly, Schwartz reveals that he and Scheana Shay once made out in Vegas.

The trailer is also stuffed with some instantly classic one-liners from Lala Kent, including her telling a newly bleach-blonde Schwartz that he looks like "Dad-bod Ken" and expressing her disbelief at Madix's skyrocketing celebrity: "I've never experienced someone who gets cheated on and suddenly she becomes God."

When does 'Vanderpump Rules' season 11 premiere?

Bravo confirmed in May 2023 that "Vanderpump Rules" had been renewed for an 11th season.

Season 11 began filming in July, according to a post on the network's official Instagram account featuring images of Madix, Vanderpump, Maloney, Shay, Kent, and James Kennedy's girlfriend Ally Lewber in front of the cameras. Filming began less than a month after the show's three-part Scandoval-tinged reunion finished airing.

With the release of the extended season 11 preview in December, Bravo announced the new season will premiere January 30, 2024.

The show has seen its fair share of major shake-ups over the years, including the firing of original stars Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder Clark over their racism scandal and the departures of Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright.

However, the July Instagram post announcing that filming had started made clear that main cast members Vanderpump, Maloney, Shay, Kent, and Madix were all filming together.

And on July 7, Queens of Bravo wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that Tom Schwartz and a mustache-less Tom Sandoval were apparently spotted filming for season 11 at TomTom, the namesake bar the two opened with Vanderpump.

Sandoval spoke to E! News in September about filming what he described as a "rough and isolating" season of the show, confirming he'd be appearing.

"You walk in and you feel like nobody in the room likes you. And it's a s--t feeling, I can tell you. But, I'm glad we got through it and I feel like there was a lot of things that needed to be said and that needed to be addressed," he said.

Bravo officially confirmed at BravoCon 2023 that the cast for season 11 includes Vanderpump, Madix, Kennedy, Maloney, Kent, Shay, Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. Kennedy's girlfriend Lewber and Shay's husband Brock Davies both return as friends of the cast.

The extended trailer released in December also shows that former main cast member Jax Taylor will make his first appearance since getting fired in 2020. (No word yet on whether Taylor's wife Brittany Cartwright, who also left after season eight, will be back too.) Madix's boyfriend Daniel Wai also appears in the trailer and seems like he'll be prominently featured in the season, as we see Madix asking the New York-based Wai about moving to Los Angeles, where she lives.

Will Raquel Leviss return for 'Vanderpump Rules' season 11?

After season 10 filming finally wrapped in March, a spokesperson for Leviss revealed that she had checked into a mental-health facility. The rep told People that Leviss and her family had decided before Scandoval was uncovered "that she would enter a voluntary facility for mental health counseling."

"She was scheduled to go in pre-reunion but decided she wanted to finish her filming commitment," Leviss' rep said at the time. "Bravo and production were aware and in support of her journey towards better mental health."

On June 30, TMZ reported that, per sources, Leviss was in the process of negotiating her return to the show. But in an August episode of Bethenny Frankel's podcast, when asked if she'd ever return to reality TV, Leviss responded "Oh hell no."

In October, Leviss auctioned off her infamous lightning bolt necklace and TomTom sweatshirt, saying she was, "currently in the process of letting go: letting go of the things that no longer serve me anymore."

At BravoCon, it was confirmed that Leviss wouldn't appear in "Vanderpump Rules" season 11. In November, Leviss announced that she was launching her own podcast with iHeartRadio, called "Rachel Goes Rogue," which will premiere on January 8, 2024.

In a press release for her new podcast, Leviss promises to break the "fourth wall in reality TV" and "bring awareness to mental health issues and challenge the stigma surrounding treatment."
