‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Ariana Madix to reportedly replace Sarah Hyland as host of ‘Love Island’
“Vanderpump Rules” breakout Ariana Madix will reportedly replace Sarah Hyland as the new host of “Love Island USA.”
For the past two seasons, the “Modern Family” actress has hosted Peacock’s dating reality series. Madix meanwhile has become a fan favorite of her Bravo reality show amid the headline-grabbing “Scandoval” cheating controversy.
Hyland took to social media on Wednesday to reveal the news that she’ll no longer commandeer the competition series, a spinoff of the top-rated British franchise.
“Well, just got a text,” Hyland wrote on her Instagram story, referencing how cast members communicate on the show. “I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer.”
“I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for ‘Love Island USA,'” she explained. “While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!”
Hyland, 33, came on board “Love Island USA” for Season 4 in 2022, when the series moved from CBS to Peacock.
Actress Arielle Vandenberg hosted the dating show for its first three seasons after premiering 2019.
Sources “with direct knowledge” told TMZ that Madix is in position to take over “Love Island USA” for the sixth season. Peacock has yet to make an official announcement about casting.
The 38-year-old reality TV star recently wowed sold-out audiences in the Broadway musical “Chicago,” and competed on Season 32 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
