This Morning's Vanessa Feltz has shared a health update after being rushed to hospital yesterday.

The TV and radio presenter shared a video to her Instagram page from her bed, and told viewers how she suddenly felt an excruciating pain on Sunday afternoon while family were visiting her at home.

"Good morning from hospital! Bit of a surprise," she said. "Yesterday, I was absolutely fine, completely fine. I had the children, Cecily and the babies, over for lunch.

"And I was completely fine, not anything wrong with me at all, and then suddenly, I got this pain.

"And it was just absolutely extraordinary. I've never had anything like it, and I've given birth to two children naturally, never had any pain like that in my life. Suddenly, I went from completely normal to doubled over in proper agony," she recalled.

Vanessa explained that she was meant to be presenting her LBC radio show on Sunday evening and while "normally, I'm quite a trooper at this stuff", she said that there was "no way" she could work in the circumstances.

"I luckily managed to get seen at hospital quite quickly, thank god, 'cause I was just in agony," she said. "I couldn't sit down, I couldn't lie down, I didn't know what to do."

Vanessa was assessed very quickly in hospital, where a scan confirmed the "astounding" pain she was experiencing was because of a kidney stone. She was then rushed into theatre for an operation.

"Never had one in my life before, never, and it was extraordinary really, they managed to scan me and everything. It was 5 millimetres, and so they operated..." she continued.

"And now here I am, all dripped up but feeling considerably better than I did last night, I can tell you that for nothing.

"So, morning to anybody who suddenly found themselves in hospital yesterday when they were having a completely normal day!"

Vanessa added: "Apparently they had to nuke it with a laser, the stones were so big they couldn't have got it out any other way or something like that. I don't really like to picture it, to tell you the truth.

"Anyway, all my love to you, and hope that you're having a good Monday – and mine is certainly much better than Sunday."

Celebrity friends including Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney, Love Island's Chloe Burrows, two-time I'm a Celebrity winner Myleene Klass, and All Saints' Nicole Appleton have all commented on the post, wishing Vanessa a speedy recovery.

Vanessa added in the caption that she was "very grateful" for the help she received and shared "thanks to my daughters, nurses, porters, anaesthetist and wonderful surgeon".
