Vehicles Stranded as Heavy Snow Disrupts Transport in Japan

Over 1,200 vehicles were stranded in central Japan on January 10, Kyodo News said, as heavy snowfall continued to cause major traffic disruptions across the country.

Video here shows trucks parked at a snow-covered service area on the Hokuriku Expressway in Ishikawa Prefecture.

Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force was called in to help by some prefectures, the Ministry of Defense tweeted.
